BSA FWD Club 2007 AGM & Dinner The Merrick Lodge Hotel. Coventry Date To be announced
| As usual the Club AGM will be held at the Merrick Lodge Hotel
and Restaurant, 80/82 St Nicholas Street, Coventry. To find the hotel by car, follow
Coventry City Centre signs to the ring road.
Exit at junction 9, signposted to Tamworth. Take the first right turn into Light Lane, and then follow the road round to the left into St Nicholas Street. The Merrick Lodge Hotel is situated 100 yards on the right hand side. There is a large secure car park to the rear. The hotel is only ten minutes walk from the well-known shopping centre of Coventry, and the Museum of British Road Transport. The museum has free admission (open 10.00am to 5.00pm) and really is an opportunity too good to miss. The Club AGM is the focal point for the membership to meet and discuss the Club activities and help plan the future, so come along and make your contri- bution! The AGM and dinner is one of the major events in any club calendar, and ours is no exception, the venue is as near central as we can make it, the rooms we use are large and pleasant, car parking is more than adequate and the company is as friendly and welcoming as you would expect from a club such as ours. The meeting itself is conducted with the minimum of fuss and formality, all committee members deliver their reports, and members have ample opportunity to air views, comments and suggestions. After the meeting, and when the awards have been presented, there are talks and presentations of a topical nature by some of our more knowledgeable members (details at a later date). The Dinner rounds off the day, and it is always well prepared and enjoyable, what better atmosphere is there to immerse oneself in every aspect of what we all have in common--- BSAs!!.

The AGM DinnerThe dinner this year will follow a similar format to previous years, three courses including coffee and mints. The menu will be multi-choice and will include vegetarian options; final choices can be made on the day. The cost will be advised in the next magazine. It would be helpful if you would confirm with me your meal requirements so that I can notify the hotel of expected numbers. Telephone 01 564-774830 or e-mail . Overnight AccommodationFor those who wish to stay overnight at the Merrick Lodge Hotel, we usually negotiate prices for members that are considerably lower than the normal prices. Unfortunately the rates were not confirmed to the Club before the current magazine went to press. We hope to publish them in the September issue of 'Front Wheels'. If you wish to make a booking, you should contact the hotel directly, telephone 02476-553940, fax 02476-550112, mention- ing the Club when you do so. Prior Notice MotionsAny prior notice motions to Ray Young, 93 Barkby Road, Syston, Leicester LE7 2AH. Telephone 0116-260-9663 (evenings). Club TrophiesExisting Club trophy holders are reminded that they should return them to John Chadwick by the last week of September to ensure that they can be suitably engraved for presentation to the new recipient at the AGM. Remember This event is for the benefit of all Club members and an opportu- nity for you to put in your two-pennyworth. You can arrive any time in the morning, leave your car in the hotel car park and walk to Coventry's new shopping precincts (all your leading High Street names). Don't forget the revamped motor museum - still free! Peter Weale![]()
